It's just so worrying at the moment. Children orphaned. Partners lost. Children lost.

My DD and dh are going to London at the weekend and while it is completely her choice if she wants to miss it or not it is playing on my mind am I bad mother if I let her go? She is 13.

I saw it on a BBC tweet, but they stressed it isn't thought to be related to terrorism.

The threat level is critical. We have been warned this might happen. Try to remain calm and aware. That is the only advice I can think of.

From the Press Association via the Guardian:

A man has been arrested in possession of a knife near Buckingham Palace.

A witness said he had seen a man surrounded by officers and handcuffed as he sat on the ground in the Mall at about 10.40am on Wednesday.

A police van arrived with lights flashing and drove him away.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan police said the incident was not believed to be terrorism-related.

She added: “A man has been arrested in the Mall, SW1, in possession of a knife. Patrolling officers detained and arrested the man in the Mall at about 10.40am this morning.

“No one was injured in the incident and a knife was recovered. The man has been taken to a central London police station.”

TBH terrorism or a man stabbing a police man or a member of the public makes no difference to me and I appreciate I might be being naive. It's still murder, fear, distress etc.
