I have some sympathy with them actually. Our village post office was shut down earlier this year and moved to the garage where the service is appalling.

i normally do have sympathy and get that there is no point in a strike if it doesn't affect people. but surely they will loose so much custom....

The postal workers are treated like rubbish, like so many working people ( did you see the latest about the Amazon workers?). If it's so important What they do, we should value them more and treat them better. You do know the superb quality of the alternatives do you not - thread on Hermes anyone?

You know what they say about postmen, it's a rubbish job but it's better than walking the streets.

The postal workers i.e. Royal Mail are not on strike. It is Post Office staff that are taking action and only at crown post offices at that - smaller branches will be open.

Most of the 11 thousand odd post offices will be open, a few hundred will be shut.
The post office has no competition, Royal Mail does.

As Heavenly has said .. its the larger Post Office shops that will be shut. The Post Office and Royal Mail are completely separate businesses
The posties will still be out delivering
