There was also a section about this on Countryfile on Sunday. I thought Boris was rather more convincing than Cameron, despite being a remainer.

I think the EU has introduced quite a lot of environmental legislation eg clean beaches etc but the UK has done a lot on its own. However, that may be as a result of having the EU framework. I can see both sides on this one.

As for workers' right however, that's a reason to stay in the EU not leave. Would you trust a Boris-led Tory government to stand up for workers' rights? I'd trust Ruth Davidson but not (most of) the Westminster lot.

This is an interesting article Toad. One of my beefs with the EU is that it puts the interests of large global corporations above those of small businesses and individual countries. She explains it well.

"Moreover, the EU is in effect (and, sadly, not unwillingly), at the mercy of big corporates and private interest groups, as I’ve previously argued. For example, look at the influence over many years of the car industry in pushing diesel, which has helped to poison the air in many of our towns and cities. I like Jenny Jones. I don't agree with her on everything, but I admire her independence of spirit and her principles. She doesn't follow the party line if she doesn't believe it. Quite rare among the political class.

Just seen this. Fantastic news. About time the Green Party started doing what it's supposed to - stand up for the environment, oppose unlimited population increases, protect the native species and habitats of this country. Vote Leave.

I'm delighted to see this.

I've been so depressed by how Brexit has been monopolised by the Boris Johnsons/Nigel Farages of the world. There are so, so many excellent reasons to get out of the EU (most of them almost untouched by the official, narrow-minded Brexit campaign), and it's brilliant to see a few highlighted here.

The main reason I am voting Leave is to save green fields and woodland from being built on. I like EU migrants but they could stay in their own countries and build their own economies up. We can't cover the whole of the South East with housing estates for them. Once our green fields are gone they are gone forever.

I was interested to read that as Greenpeace and RSPB have said that from a wildlife and environmental point of view, the UK is better off remaining in the EU.
