Is anyone else out there at their wits end about the biased, one-sided perspective we get on the news? They just promote ignorance and insular thinking. Did anyone see Noam Chomsky on C4 news the other night? Jon Snow, kept cutting him off when Chomsky tried to present the other, (Russia's) side of the arguement over Ukraine. Snow didn't want to hear about it clearly.

Snow is a joke - a bouncing, bubbly, bounding right-on buffoon.

Propaganda is everywhere. The party line is everywhere and lots of people repeat the party mantras.

What is happening in Ukraine and Russia is extremely important for teh whole world and may lead to a terrible war which is why Merkel and Hollande responsibly rushed over to try and stop what might happen. But if you listen to the news, you would never understand what is really going on.

Chomsky is a world figure, someone who gives alternative viewpoints to the usual party lines of the puppets. Jon Snow had a short interview with him and as usual with Snow he bouncingly interjected and made it about his bubbly excited self rather than about someone who knew what he was talking about. Snow is like an actor, a right-on mouthpiece who wants to be a star.

I think, if you only get your news from one source, you're going to experience bias. That's why it's important to work from a variety of sources and form your own conclusions.

Sometimes you can be better informed, and less stressed, if you watch less news.

I stopped reading newspapers about 5 years ago. I used to get the guardian as well which is supposed to be the most balanced of all of them. I decided it was unbalanced rather than biased.

As cogito said, all news outlets are biased. The trick is to understand the bias and read/watch all sides and not get sucked into confirmation bias or an echo chamber.
