Am I the only little person left in the UK or do other people find it almost impossible to find small size clothes to fit them - it's even harder now I'm pregnant again? I am 27 and have been a size 8 all my adult life, through one pregnancy and now on my second - I'm only 5'2" so quite a titch really. Anyway, now I find Topshop and other high street stores have changed their sizes so I've been demoted to a size 4, or to quote the red tops, a US size 0... does this mean I have shrunk to nothing? Please tell me there are still little places that cater for us - I'm beginning to feel like one of the Borrowers!

I know how you feel. I too have always been a size 8 but in some shops I'm now a 4 eg George at Asda. I think that shops have changed their sizes in order to flatter women but it just has the effect of making it hard to find clothes to wear. I'm 28 and find casual clothes ok as I can get them from Topshop and Miss Selfridge but smart clothes suitable for a professional job are pretty hard to get hold of. I'm 5'4" so petite ranges are generally too short for me which compounds the problem. I also look at pics of Victoria Beckham for example and think "No was am I as thin as she is" (not that I would particularly want to be) so something is definitely up with sizing.

Well, at least I know there are some more little people out there! Maybe we should petition Mrs B for her cast offs! I actually wrote to Topshop etc about it so maybe if enough people complain we'll at least get more of our sizes in stores, if not a return to real sizes. It's just annoying not that important, and having seen about Paul Hunter today seems very insignificant...

Completely agree with you all.

Like amicissima I have a skirt from Next which is several years old. It's a size 8 but it's actually the same size or smaller than my newer size 6 clothes! Maybe we could get a campaign going!

If you are after maternity clothes there was a thread recently about this. I'll see if I can find it.

Can you get Mimi Maternity over there? Their clothes run rather small.

i went to m&s on sunday and found a top that fitted perfectly - the label said 13-14 years ffs.

i am nearly 5 ft 4 and also a size 6 - 8 normally.

i find M&S size 8 huge on me.

Oh well! tax free clothing, can't beat it. Just a shame that all our clothes have name labels so they won't get lost at school...Maybe us titches should resort to wearing school uniforms and gloves with string between them...at least the sight of it might provoke a sympathetic backlash in Size 8 favour, or Size minus whatever we now are!! As to Mimi Maternity, it looks class, but seems to be confined to the US... grouchy face!
