The school initially tried to deny a knife had been involved in the attack. Um, yeah right.

TH bbc reports says that the girl used a blade from a pencil sharpener to do this

I heard this report on PM and the headmaster has said that the attack couldn't have been forseen, but that they'll review security.

There's something so wrong going on here.

Horrid isn't it?

The school is probably one of the worst secondary schools in the area. Been in and out fo Special Measures. The area is not a great one at all, by end stretch of imagination.

The most worrying thing being that a 12 year old child feels they can seriously assault another and have no consequences. Very, very worrying.I'd be worried sick if I was a teacher, or the parent of a child, who goes to that school.

And as being only 12, the girl who carried out the assult will be protected from the media, etc and will reamin anon.

Sadly this does not actually shock me as much as it should. Knowing the area, having worked in schools and of declining standards it is no where near as shocking as it should be. How depressing is that
