De-cluttering; by jove she's got it!

I am getting so good at this stuff now. I have hit most of the major trouble spots in our house now. Cupboards under stairs, under our bed, under the boys' beds - I tackled dusty old boxes and disintegrating carrier bags without fear! I can see more carpet than has been visible for years. I am losing my fear of chucking things away. It's very liberating

Problems:

  1. I am popping anti-allergy pills like sweeties.
  2. We have filled our wheelie bin already and we have 10 days to go (oops).
  3. When 'decluttering' the papers in the kitcen I got rid of some recent bank statements DH is so last century, he won't get his statements online.

But still.....

it's amazing isn't it, I blitz every couple of months as it's started to build up again.

Orm well done that is amazing progress. I agree once you begin and see some improvements it spurs you into carrying on. We have been taking lots of bags to charity and having a massive clothes clearout.

Next on our list is the garden shed and the garage. not really looking forward to either.

Do you have DC, do you manage to do the decluttering with them around or do you wait til there are asleep/out?

Orm - just a suggestion but our bank will change the frequency of when they'll send statements out. We can see a years worth online, and they'll send paper statements out once a year - this is helping with our filing

DP is the same - he likes a paper statement & won't just use online. I think our options were monthly, 3 monthly, 6 monthly or yearly.

Maybe you could buy a new vacuum cleaner to deal with the uncovered dust of centuries?

Well done - it feels good to recover space and order!
