This morning feels like a blur.

Not because I have moved fast.

We all overslept.
Due to dh insisting the children all watched telly before bed, and us watching two episodes of Brothes and Sisters later.

Managed to lay out clothes and do most of [pages and pages] of homework yest, but a bit of washing carried forward (ds needs more than 1 shirt it's ridiculous) and what appeared to be 5 mins of homework to do this morning was enough to tip us into chaos again. Ds2 was having a nervous breakdown about his photograph of his special person being stuck in wrong, and dd kept trying to steal dh's umbrella and we spent some time searching for ds1 before we realised he had gone to school by himself
It just feels like a complete muddle tbh

Then mum rang to tell me about her holiday - it had been lovely - she had had a wonderful time, but the effect was to make me feel dull and dreary..and pathetically middleaged with my boring complaints.

just need to pick myself up and create some semblance of direction this morning.
Off to work again I think.

Morning, couldn't go to work without saying Hi. Thank you Swan for the thread. Ds going to school by himself does he want to speak to OFM about his siblings
Have a lot to do today.
Go to work & get help with application
e-mail to swap day off
Get back in time to shop
make Spag bol!
Collect ds from school
make a picture out of apples & stuff around the kitchen.
Wait for DH to get home then allow ds to turn picure into a potion! (Harry Potter has effected him deeply.)
e-mail to a Mum to say yes to a party
look at date for book clube and get Ds to chose a book this weekend.
Have a good day

Those sounds like challenges Star, but you know what - YOU will manage them, esp application, good luck

yes, I think you are right; also all the dcs need their own Fly thread to say AARgh on.

Done
cleared kitchen (IT IS TIDY)
cleared hall
found missing waterbottle
found missing floral umbrella
found old cheesestrings £
found two missing library books
laundry upstairs
foaming doormat (don't ask) in washer again

Morning all
I have a tray of choc biscuit cake aka tiffin in the fridge. it is very dangerous, keep eating a nibble when I get the milk for tea!!
Done a few errands and a bit of food shopping.
Barely slept last night, a few things on my mind have consumed it. I am feeling quite down at the minute.
Going out for a girly night out tonight and will be very drunk probably so trying to drink my water. managed 1.5 litres so far! Makes up for rest of week, haven't managed to drink much water at all this week. Too cold!!
swan You are right. My complaints too are silly and trivial. Must snap out of it!
star hope application is going well.
BBL perhaps

Hi all.

Sympathy for morning chaos swan. Friday is our best morning as we take friends ds to school as well and knowing that he is coming round before school galvinises mine into action .

star agree with what you said yesterday about the feminism programme (I saw it too). I definately take a lot for granted. My Mum longed to be a 70s SAHM but had to go out to work so she worked 2 night shifts/week (as a nurse) and looked after us full time too! This ment that on Fridays she looked after us all day and worked all night . I have it easy.

wolf dress looks gorgeous . May is not long.

simply hi if you're lurking, good luck with the grand declutter.

MC I like playing dressing up dolls with my dd .

wendy Hope tonight lifts your spirits .

Well My Mum's coming tonight for the weekend to look after DC while DH and I go to a hotel in Harrogate . For my 40th birthday tomorrow .

Todays important list:
pack weekend bag
paint nails

afternoon all

wendy sorry tohear you're feeling down. Did you decide whether to apply for that job? Hope nght out cheers you up!

swan sounds a rough start to the day. I am foreverplagued by "Mum, I can't find a clean jumper/skirt/other essential uniform item" in the mornings, no matter how organised I try to be the night before...
Hope rest of day goes smoothly

MC good luk with afternoon's productiveness(is that even a word LOL)oh no think I mean productivity...anyway good luck being busy LOL

star apple pictures and potions sounds most fun!

Well, still feeling bleugh here today...still agonising over job stuff...think I am possibly having some sort of premature mid life crisis LOL
Have realised that this is now(ie 21 months!) the longest I have NOT been pregnant for in 12 years Definitely no more babies...so need to work out what direction my life will start to take now I think...Possibly adding to feeling of needing to go back to work....but really don't WANT to....

Anyway...have been and bought last little bits for dd4 bday this morning.
Need to ice cake this evening
Then quick tidy/clean in the morning....but more or less sorted...
Reading session at nursery later...

Now need to stop hiding on the internet and do something useful...

afternoon all Scatty happy birthday, I love harrogate. If you are going to Betty's try and get a booking in the room upstairs a lovely afternoon tea and piano treat.

ofm take the time to sit down and work out what it is in life that gives you fulfillment then do that thing or combination of things. Simplistic I know (especially where there might be other concerns like having to work)but the more of what fulfills you that you get the happier you will be and those around you too. Sorry I hope I'm not being patronising, these are things we are encouraged to consider as part of the development programme i'm on at work.

wendy can I have the tiffin recipe? Enjoy your night out. We should all have one soon.

swan I love fajitas, enjoy your dinner

Hello to star & mc

scatty ...gosh, missed bit about your Bday...sorry..HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!for tomorrow...have a fabby wk/end

wolf very wise advice. Will spend sometime to ponder all things this evening I think.Possibly will need tocome up with a way to balance fullfilment V financial needs though I think, as what fulfills me most and brings me greatest happiness isn't going to be working in old (financially rewarding) job I fear....hmm...will ponder later...

off for nursery reading..BBL

Simply we miss you
OFM yes difficult to realise there are other things to look forward to as well as new babies - really really hard to come to terms with I agree. My granny had 8. And several dfferent career paths.

You are so organised to have have dd's party all ready [smile}
Scatty sounds like heaven in Harrogate, DON'T TALK ABOUT THE CHILDREN or EVEN THINK OF THEM.
Wendy lucky you too

Well had a morning of productivityLOL in school library, librarian was delighted to see me. Feel completely energised - full of good ideas for next week. It has made me reflect on home life too, and where I go wrong. I listen so well to the children in the library, and I need to do more of it at home.

TO DO
communion prep homework for dts
think of creatve ideas of doing lost sheep with my group on sat morning
order some more non-fiction books for kids
play a board game with kids this afternoon or chat to them instead of rushing around worrying or worse still hiding...

Scatty Happy birthday for tomorrow!!!
Simply Swan is right, we do miss you
OFM I am feeling exactly the same way as you I think. i feel like getting a job would be good for me and hence good for the children, but I am agonising over the childcare, amount of extra (i.e. at home) work it would involve etc. We should meet for coffee to discuss!
Swan Are you happy and why!? do you think your library sessions add something to your parenting even though you are more busy because of it?
I am philosophising, sorry. meant to be in the shower getting ready.
Well have a nice night all.

yes ...simply is all OK?....Thinking of you.

swan yes..I'm readjusting! Its not that I want anymore babies. I am incredibly lucky in that i was able to have as many as I wanted...(and look where that got me!) And I am thankful for that. Must be so hard to want babies/more babies and not be able too...anyway...it's just that growing and raising babies is what I've done for the last 12 years!! Now need to begin to consider there are possibly other things I could do with my life too LOL whilst continuing to raise the 6 fully cooked ones I made earlier!!

Well...nursery reading Ok...DD far too excited about handing out her obligatory Bday lollipops to concentrate on any books though

Have sadly managed a weekend argument with DH in record time this weekend...he's only been in 2 mins
I really need to put some more effort into our relationship me thinks...just seems sometimes so many people need so much from me....andnow I'm applying for a job so more people can make more demands of me...anyway...

Also sadly thehoover seems to have died...verybadnews as NEED tohoover lounge before party tomorrow...haveleft DHinvestigating...

Bu**er...just remembered I forgot to get batteries for DD main pressie...BUM.....

right...off for glass of wine and to collect thought...BBL

Hi everyone,
Wolf Seeing that you've been on a PROGRAMME 'encouraged to consider as part of the development programme i'm on at work' You couldn't write my application. I'm finding it really hard. They want lots of masculine egotistical language that I don't really want to write. It not as if I can put it in and let it fly. My supervisor has to sign it off and they won't. I feel like saying here is my work look at it, phone a few people and employ me on that! Arrgh! They won't. (maybe I'll get DH to write it I'll tell him it will stop me moaning {grin]
OFM Are you sure you want to be an employee?

Scatty happy birthday for tomorrow

Ofm its hard making life decisions, i still don't feel grown up enough to do it all!

star I'd be happy to look at your application. Mine was 10 short (50 word) competency examples plus 5 300 or 400 word examples which were sort of competency based. Then psychometric tests, then a really horrific assessment centre. I'm not bad at application forms though and I do sift applications and interview on occasion at work. Email me - claire at bwythyn dot fsnet dot co dot uk.

ruby it's good to see you. It must be a very stressful time with that going on. 3 pairs of shoes for 47 is excellent.

dyls well done on the swimming

ofm dp and i often at each others throats at the mo, lots of shouting for no apparent reason. Think both very stressed and pressured by our roles and crap thats happening and have no time for each other. Flylady has a point about date night but I just don't have the time or energy.

I'll do it on Monday so we can have the weekend off. Sorry if I'm asking you to repeat yourself What do you do? Apart of course from being a fab Mum and home maker
