Was there a lot to sort out - at work I mean?
Enjoy today Wolf!

Done: 2 x practise, dts to school, and the kerbside recycling

Now off for a long windy walk with ds to physio - hope prognosis good - he still can't bend his knee very well...
Dh has agreed to us getting a real (as opposed to cheapy electric)piano, and I've found one for sale, luckily my conversation with him about it coincided with him ordering some wine (which I don't really drink anymore) so managed to get this luxury past him.

Bbl

Morning everyone. Thanks for the thread Wolfcub. Hi swan.

I've sent you the meal planner knickers.

I've got to wait in for someone today and, who knows, I might even crack on with the ironing!

OFM - all the better to deal with real people with real problems...
When ds2 was about 10months he had a chronic wheeze/chest infection, and I was referred to the consultant paedatrician. Me: I am so concerned, he doesn't seem to be sleeping through the night - it must be his chest etc etc.
Paedatrician tersely(who admittedly looked very tired): My [toddler]daughter hasn't slept through for 2 years. Believe me, his chest is not keeping him awake.

Back from physio - no muscle strength in his left leg, but she is helping him build it up
Just having some nice leftovers now and we are enjoying some more books from the Remainder shop next to physio...

Piano lesson for me this afternoon, a friend babysitting, so need to tidy up [help] and practise a bit more.

evening all

done
optician
bank
shopping
short walk with granny and grandad to see chickens
shopping away
veg prepped and lamb shoulder butchered ready for irish stew
two bags decorated with ds - either tea's children are very good and artistic or my son is a particular pain in the bum or I have no patience because it nearly drove me crackers
walk down to shop in hope of ds falling asleep and to pick up guinness and dishwasher tablets
back home, ds asleep, just having two minutes while the oven warms up and then I will get the stew on
good luck OFM swan there was lots to do and some of it was very bad but I just decided that I hadn't been there and there was nothing I could do to fix the prob. It didn't have my name on it so I decided to let most of it go by and I will worry about what needs to be done for next week! Staff still bonkers though.

Hello again everyone. It's still afternoon here Wolfcub.

swan My ds took out a month long pass for the swimming pool in order to build up his leg muscles after he hurt his leg (he broke a bone in his knee, I think). It was handy that he was of an age to be able to get a lift in early with dh and then go swimming before school.

I must be terribly unfit as I'm tired after walking the dog. It was hard going through the mud on the path and I had visions of me ending up on my butt absolutely covered in mud!

I'd best go off and do something. Be back later.

Hi all.

Wrote a long post at work at lunch time then computer exploded . The engineer was trying to fix it when I left (through the back door).

Wolf - good attitude to work. You can't be responsible for work done in your absence. Also don't worry, my DS hates anything craft related always has, dd likes it but only if she can have full reign (ie no suggestions made at all). We have never got beyond making cards .

I have forgotten what my earlier post said.

To do
laundry
clean bathroom
beavers
tea
wash up
etc

Hello All

I have been in hiding. very sore and grumpy!!!

galen hope all went well, catch up later. If you can deal with 6 children, then you can cope with work.

Wolf What bags are you decorating, I am pretty patient and do one to show what I mean adn then let them get on, hense lots of different things. Drop your expectations Mrs!!!

Swan Hope all is well and that you are managing OK with DS's leg. take things easy too

Simply How are you finding being at home all the time.

I have baked cakes with mini
picked up a million little silver balls that went all over the kitchen - pants container!!
School drop off and collection
naan bread dough proving
lentils in soak (chandra dahl and naans for dinner),I am so pleased the mini's like currys
Done an interview with homestart - I might need to do another one. They were looking for quality control stuff and the lady I spoke to said that it was nice to deal with an average person. I said we are super lucky with our lady!!

Off to pplay star wars on the wii with Maxi, whilst mini watches DVD of star wars

May the force be with you

tea I bought some canvas shopping bags from cleverbaggers and some fabric crayons. He did okay with the first one - it's scribble but it's his scribble. Problem was he wanted me to write things on it and draw for him and got bored when I wouldn't (as it's supposed to be his decoration for the granny's not mine) so the second didn't go so well.

can I have the naan and dahl recipes (no rush) please.

Irish stew is in the oven, it smells good already and I don't really like lamb!

Right, easy peasy option mask off an area with tape, so that a square is avalable for him to colour in - he can go over the masking tape, but when you take it off it will look all neat and perfect, no matter what he draws

Wolf - yes patience is required.
I used to have v. emotional scenes with dd when I got very impatient with her, as she kept tearing things up or asking me to do it, or saying what she had done was rubbish.
I never quite knew what the dynamic for all this was, but then last year I had these flashbacks to doing craft with my mum. She was incredibly IMpatient with us - she much preferred doing outdoor things with her four kids.
I asked her the other day what she remembered of this and she said oh you were all so SLOW - it was so frustrating doing art and craft with you, you were all so messy, and there were so many more useful, interesting things to be done like collecting raspberries, feeding animals, playing climbing etc.

I realised I was subconsciously recreating this tension with dd despite loving craft, sewing, painting myself. Everytime she got cross I felt unbelievably upset - I was a child again.

Anyway the long and short of it is, we don't do much craft in this house, but the tension has lifted a bit, and dd who is very creative)now enjoys making things much more

hey peeps
in a shocking mood (first day of period type of mood).
DD and DS both terrors too. DS tired from party yesterday which went on til 6.30. DD has a cold and is tired too.
Yoga in a minute.
swan wolf scatty Done painting this afternoon - good but caused the usual arguments. I am the same - perfectionist behaviour and find it hard to accept the children's versions! My mum never did any craft with me at all, she was always at work.
Going to really try for an early night.
galen hope meeting went well.
ruby well done on science girl!
everyone hi and bye, see you tomorrow

My mum never did craft with me either, although she stopped work when I was born, I went to a day nursery!!!!

I used to be a Facilities Manager, dealing with lots of seriious stuff like security, building management, cleaning, maintainence and the like. I did also manage loads of projects and building fit outs and a new building build of 160000 square feet.

I am not sure I could teach TBH. I love MY children, but not other peoples

ok....evening all
TM glad you're out of hiding!take it easy!
wendy hope you feel brighter tomorrw

re arts and carfts...I was feeling exactly the same thing yesterday...here

Survived the meeting...but not too positive really. Both consultants impressed with my experience...both dumbfounded at the fact I had 6 children lol...both said I looked too young to have 6 DC and a medical degree and 7 yrs career experience LOL....Must wear makeup more ofen...
BUT the placement is going to be less flexible than I had hoped...and 12 months part time (not 6) with no garuntee of job at end of it....so sounds like a lot to commit too for a gamble of a job...not to mention the cost of childcare during unpaid placement...so am now thinking it may not be viable...back to the drawing board and all that!

however....am going to just concentrate on my home and lovely dc....for now...which is what I do best!and tomoorow I have to blitz the house for our guests LOL

right off to make dinner for me and DH (freezer affair LOL)
Will BB tomorrow
