how often do you clean the loo?

Just curious as to how frequently you clean the loo and whether it's a quick rub down or a full monty.

My DP says I'm totally obsessed. I give them a good clean every night. My nearly 3 yr old DS is potty trained and so uses the loo now so I want to avoid any stomach bugs etc.

I admit to being a 'towel folder' but is it necessary to be cleaning the loos as much as I do?

I wipe the loo to make it look clean (have boys!) daily, but proper clean only once a week

Once a week unless one obviously needs cleaning - afraid I have better things to do with my evenings...

I clean them most days - I have a ds with ASD which has made me more careful as toileting was never a foregone conclusion and toilet hygeine has been a long process.

I just use spray cleaner on paper towel and a swish round with bleach if needed when ds is not around- (yes I know bleach isn't good but I also know ds hands can get anywhere!)

Twice a week but give it a going over with a antibac wipe if people are visiting!

once a week properly, but then a wipe round with a flash wipe each morning.

Not often enough.
Actually I clean the loo seat every time I go because it's always got wee on it (I have two small boys who always forget to out the seat up and wee on it). But that's just with a wipe or loo roll. The whole bleaching and scrubbing thing is far less frequent.

A swoosh of bleach down it and a Flash wipe at least every day (3 yr old DD insists on taking herself to the loo, but still really needs help).

Proper hands and knees scrub once a week.

For easy cleaning of seat I can recommend buying a new one from Ikea - the seat part unhooks from the back, & you can hose it down in the bath. Brilliant!

(Our previous one was from Homebase & cleaning that one was a nightmare)

I just went and put a squirt of bleach down them both - was feeling like a slattern

Virtually every day. Our DD has a weird relationship with toilets. She uses it then spends a long time wiping which leaves the bowl full of paper. She loathes flushing the toilet and as our water is so hard within a couple of hours a gorgeous yellowish ring has appeared. I must use 2 or 3 bottles of domestos a week. Which is a PITA as I have to drive to Germany or France to buy it.

The cleaner does all the loos properly twice a week and I do it once a week too so I guess it's every other day or there abouts. Or more often if DH has done a splatter

What is a 'good clean'?!

I put toilet cleaner with limescale remover down once a day (more if particularly yacky skidmarks in between!) and scrub round with the toilet brush. Also wipe round with Flash wipe every day or two. I never put bleach down or stick my hand down the toilet as it always looks and smells clean using above methods. Am I a slattern?!

Once a week/fortnight, if that. It doesn't actually get dirty. If 3yo DS wees on seat/floor, I give it a quick wipe with a babywipe.

Ah, thanks ladies! I knew I could rely on you to put things into perspective.

I guess I should ease off the 'full monty' clean as much as I'm doing and just clean as necessary or use the antibac wipes daily.

That'll leave me more time to concentrate on towel folding...!!
