Morning Swan We have had a relaxing morning with no school infact the boys are running round in the nude - bless them. Swan on the lego front, we make it, they break it or at least DS2 does. DS1 is really in to star wars or getting in to it and helped his daddy build one and plays really carefully with it. DS2 loves duplo and we have a big box of the stuff.

We are in the bathroom and one other room this week

urg toilet mission

Hello.
I got rained on!!!!! That won't help my little cold. Oh well.
My other room is the boys bedroom, been looking forward to this one as there's loads of clothes that they have outgrown which can be put in the loft.
Need to do the weekly blessing thing too, but that all depends on if the ds's let me.
I also need to puree more veg.

afternoon all

swan glad DS is feeling better. Pies sound yummy

TM very of your relaxed morning with no school... I sooo need it to be the holidays here lOL

prof also very of your organised mum stuff...really need to order some myself, will have to go browse bank acc.... an afternoon with stickers , pens and highlighters sounds perfect to me (does this make us very sad??)

scatty glad party went well

grouchy Hi, thanks for thoughts

dyls yay for internet connection again

lbb sorry you got rained on!

OK day so far here
Lovely Homestart lady came this morning - last time before holidays, she brought lollipops for DD4 and DS2 - very lovely
We gave her some flowers.
Caught up a bit while she was here, but also did a lot of drinking coffee and just chatting sometimes it's just nice to have someone to chat to!

Droppped dd4 to nursery, took flowers into the mum (also secretary) who dropped DS1 home on Sat night for me (big relief as I did not want to have to drag 6 sleeping children out at 10 pm LOL)

Dinner - saus casserole, half constructed...(dont ask LOL)
laundry rebooted
Sadly neglected veggie patch inspected and discovered 3 corgettes and several more flowers, a couple of french beans, and the beginings of tomatoes YAY
Resolved to spend some time weeding/tidying/rescuing garden over summer holiday

Now DS2 napping, my having cuppa and a rest as I'm still exhausted.

DH got back at 7pm last night
FIL is still in a variable state, and of course no one can say how long he may go on like this for. Very hard on DH, especially as he is so far away and it is therefor difficult to visit.
Also DH's family are not handling things well by the sound of it. Sounds to me as if they are sort of avoiding the whole thing kind of...FIL is at home and had a nurse, but they dismissed her as they couldnt get on with her. Now trying to care for him themselves which is clearly not realisitic given how ill he is. Also lots of arguing among themselves and falling out going on, and very little time spent dealing with the real issue...DH came back quite upset and worn down by it all....
Still we will just take it a day at a time...

3 DC out of 5 on school trips today too. So all back at different times......

Just hanging in there till Friday....I need it to be the holidays now!!!

Right, best get on....

BBL

What you need now is someone else to bring dd2 home, even half way?
LA, Kind parent whose child is in a different class and not going to leavers' Assembly? That's what I did last week. They stayed downstairs, while sick child was left upstairs, so no risk of lurgifying.

I'm missing a lovely ladies lunch tomorrow [boo] because of ds still being ill. Trying to find teenage babysitter for 90 mins.

Now off to school.
Cake decorated with ds - it's a face cake

Dyslmum, I didn't really finish kitchen last week, and now it's gone back to primal slime anyway.
Galen, courgettes do seem to be succeeding here too.

Now, dcs are watchng telly again, ds2 has gone back to bed for a rest.
Will mow lawn now.

TM they are the latest Lego kits info here *Wolf knows about his obsession

Poor DH has now got the flu symptoms from hell cold. He's cancelled his dentist appointment and taking tomorrow off. I've suggested he works from home for the rest of the week. He just doesn't have the oestrogen to cope really.

Ed has no schoolwork to do this week so the wii wins (again) I'll dig something out for him to do Looks like I'm doing a tea tonight (I get to cook jig!!! )

Ah well, it could be so much worse

LOL Grouchy, but poor dh, glad you managed to shake it off in meantime
Fnally managed to switchoff telly at 5.00. And then they played in garden, wrestling.
Now in bath, still wrestling, and we are about to make our special holiday LIST.

Mopped half floors downstairs
Mowed lawn
Supper eaten and cleared - just grownups left

Just a quickie.

swanriver It doesn't look like we're related then. Not to worry! Thanks for the thread.

Prof I'm sorry to hear that dd isn't well. I was really nervous asking a (male) neighbour to sit with dd (about 2 or 3 yrs old) whilst I fetched ds from school (by car and less than 1 mile away) once when we'd not that long moved here and I didn't know many people. I know of someone who left her dd home alone and I think she was just a baby. I'd rather ask a neighbour I don't really know well than leave a small child home alone but I suppose everyone is different.

Right. I must go and hoover whilst my hoover chasing dog is out of the house being walked by dh. Bbl!

hope things are ok galen - you are doing so well!
TM imaginative day sounds good
Prof hope you managed everything and dd ok. I need to order my organised mum stuff too. what did you go for? I heart it with the stickers, it makes me feel like such a girly girl!
grouchy hope dh is ok
scatty water pistol party sounds fab!
swan grr kids get in the way of social lives I'm fed up of missing things too! I need a special holiday list too!
llb i managed my home bless today yay! 4th week in a row and the house looks great! I am now a convert.

Swine flu case at DS's school confirmed - hmm. Well it's only flu I suppose but the media have so hyped it up!

Had 3 hours off shopping today! Tried loads of clothes on but only managed to buy two white T shirts and a pair of black linen trousers (size 10 hurrah! at last I am squeezing back into pre children clothes! Only 2.5 years down the line after the second!)
Did the Lidl shop too. Children in bed, now off to make some lentil spag bol. Night ladies and see you tomorrow

scatty Glad the party went well. Sounds like alot of fun. There's always one though, hey?
galen Hope your dh is coping as well as can be expected. Sounds like the rest of the family need to come to terms with what's actually happening. Hope the denial doesn't go on too long for everyone's sake
prof Hope dd is ok. I had a telephone appointment today with gp about my flu like symptoms, she said it's not swine flu if you don't have a very high temp.

Managed to get a bit done today, not all of my list, but most, so will just move the things I didn't do onto tomorrow and see what happens.

Hi all.

Hope all the poorlys are soon on the mend (lol grouchy).

Prof - end of term is a logistical nightmare anyway without poorly kids. Hope something works out.

Galen - poor dh. His family sound quite typical of many families in these situations, everyone copes differently and has a different priority and everyone wants to feel they did everything they could (although in reality no one can do anything ). It makes a stressful situation much worse though. Hope mil is ok.

Done:
dd leavers party (sob sob)
ds homework (only 1 day late)
bags packed
step dad card written
laundry reboot

Tomorrow is another day .
