Crockery crisis - do you chuck at the first chip? Or do you hang on in there till it literally falls apart?

DH lobs at the merest hint of an imaginary chip.

I tend to think, what the hell, if it's not cracked a tiny tiny flake isn't going to kill us.

I admit, I'm probably wrong, we'll be riddled with swine flu and syphilis, but it has to be a 'proper' chip in a plate before I'll chuck it.

DH chucks plates with chips underneath. That's just wrong, to me. Even with the germ risk.

I'm not that brave. My MIL terrifies me, still.

I know it's pricey but Denby is pretty indestructible.

We got our set in 2000 when we got married and it's all still chip free.

I would chuck if it had chips on the side you eat off, but not the underside IYSWIM.

What is the problem with chips? Seems incredibly precious to me. And bad for the planet. Use it til it falls apart.

Likewise, Doyouthinktheysaurus - eating side chip, bad, anywhere else, ignore.

I'm such a sloven.

Depends whether you can afford to buy new plates at the price you usually spend on china.
