MILK SPILL ON BUGGY- HOW DO I STOP THE SMELL? HEEEELP!

I have soaked it and cleaned it but it still smells, and I know it's going to get more and more rank. Especially as I'm off to Italy on Saturday and the heat is going to make it grim. Please help! How can I get it properly out? Is there a way?!?!?!?!

all buggies should be made so that there is an easy way to remove the fabric..have you checked yours to see if you can??

It's a Maclaren so I'm sure I can, but it's really stiff! I was hoping for a quick fix... hoping in vein, I guess.

Bicarb of soda removes milk stench but might effect the fabric so do a test patch first.

i have grey maclaren, i have washed it in the shower with shampoo and left it in the sun to dry and was fine, but was second hand so didn't have much to lose

I used to just squirt mine with that clear antibacterial spray - Dettox or similar

nah, milk is the one thing (well, also wee) that I ensure I can wash in the machine.

everything else seems spongable, but both those seem to linger and worsen.

you have tomorrow, and if it is a dry day, wash it first thing then put it back on the frame to dry all day in the sun. will be fine

Not sure if this will work, but when one of the clan is sick on carpet, settee etc I mix vinegar and bicarb into a thickish paste (it all fizzes up) and rub it in. It comlpletley kills the smell. Technically speaking it's supposed to be white vinegar, but I have used malt and it is ok - better smelling a bit like a chippy than the alternative!

Ok, thanks ladies- I've got it off but it's on the hood (well, in a pocket in the back); surely I can't put that in the machine? I guess I'm going to have to soak it and hope for the best...?

my pram was impressively vomitted on so it stunk. I washed it with washing up liquid mixture. Let it dry, it still smelt so i used Dettox apple antibacterial spray over a period of a few days and finally it went. Thankfully. I like the vinegar and bicarb alternative though mowcop. Will try that next time...can't wait!
