Morning all

I am going to try and get back to some normallity this week, so will be taking DS2 to toddlers.

I spoke to the pycologist yesterday and everything we are experiancing is a normal reaction for a 2 year old going through what we are. DS1 is back to his noisy, active normal self, but DS2 is still refusinh sleep, coming in on a night, today is the first day he has some breakfast for me (the thing is that eating is one thing he can control).

SO we have a plan of action - he will come to the hopital with me for my visits in the hope that he gets that I will not stay in.

I am not to change his routines and once I am able to lift etc, we will start doing some confidence exercises, but one great thing is she confirmed we are doing every thing we can and should and he will not remember any of this.

Morning Routine

Up and dressed - done
S&S - done
Make Beds - done
Empty Dishwasher - done
Breakfast - done
Wash Breakfast Pots
Robbie to Preschool
Hang Out washing/washing in dryer - 1st load hung out
Washer back on
Sort out lunchtime meal
Mum and Toddlers -
Collect DS1

Lunchtime Routine

Feed the boys
Tidy and wash lunchtime pots
Sweep dining room floor and clean table
Lunch for me
Ironing
Sort Dinner for all
Mission

Evening Routine

Dinner for Boys
Load Dishwasher and clean Dining room
Bath Boys
Get their clothes out for tomorrow
Tidy Toys
Load washing machine
Start the dishwasher
Shine Sink
Get my clothes out for tomorrow
Read a book

Jas Hope nursery goes OK for DS

I will be back after preschool drop off

Morning all
mad glad pyschologist put your mind at rest. I'm sure DS2 will be back to his old self in no time!
jas ehm scatty ev Hi!
swan an impressive list - good luck!

Well unlike others we were up late here today!! Still recovering from the trip it seems!
Slight chaos getting to school but all there with right things so not too bad!

To Do:
tidy girls bedrooms
bathrooms S&S
Hang out washing
Sort dinner (spag bol to go in slow cooker)
sweep and mop
Hoover lounge and stairs
clean washing away
Pop to Morrisons for bag of half price compost (oh that reminds me I discovered a wasps nest in the bottom of my compost bin yesterday - need to work out what to do about it!)
Plant up tomato plants
bake

DS2 and DD4 very clingy today though...so not sure how far I'll get...

Right better crack on BBL ladies!

Tortoise · 21/04/2009 11:10

Hi all.
TMH Glad the psychologist put your minds at rest.

I have ingredients for flap jacks now and also soup. So will crack on with those two in a mo.

Also need to put washing out and put another load on. Nearly reached the bottom!

Not sunny here yet. But i can see blue sky emerging! And it is quite warm.

Tortoise · 21/04/2009 11:17

Ok i won't be hanging my washing out just yet! My ignorant neighbour has a bonfire! What is it with my neighbours? Both sides don't care what time of day they light one. Even if i have washing out already.

TMH, Sometimes I feel I need to take my dtwins to a child pyschologist. Then we are patient, and I feel I can handle it after all. Sometimes it is reassuring to hear other parents having similar responses from their dcs. I think they pick up on stressful situations very very quickly, and it's just the way they react which seems so out of our control. They don't say, "I'm sad because you are sad," or "I need you with me and I don't want you to go", but instead "go away", or "not eating this", or "look at me I'm going to hit my brother see if you can stop me".
I think the most difficult thing in the world is just accepting the violence of their emotions and not taking it as a personal attack. And trying to help them choose less extreme reactions to situations.
Anyway do sympathise with the added burden of worrying about ds2. He probably is just testing testing to reassure himself that you are you and safely home.

Report
TheMadHouse · 21/04/2009 11:36

Swan You are so right about childre. DS2 is controlling the only things he can - sleep and eating. I am not concerned, just , as he was such a happy, easy going, easy living child. He was the polar opp of DS1 who is and always has been challenging.

Anyway back from toddlers and preschool collection
Dealt with meltdown from DS1, who wants the wii and mummy said no

The other thing that is hard is that they have had someones attnetion 100% of the time whilst I have been ill, now it is just me and them again and they need to get back some of the independant play!!!

Ho hum

Off to sort lunch and bring dry washing in

Report
swanriver · 21/04/2009 12:04

They go through so many phases don't they? Dd used to be such a sweet helpful little toddler, playing happily with saucepans, bustling around, slept brilliantly, then a 3-5 year old from hell (who still slept brilliantly though), ds1 was awful when he was about 3 for a year, sweet after that if you take homework out of equation, ds2 was a perfectly awful 1 year old who kept spitting food out and never slept, and then completely adorable (in my eyes anyway) till 5 or 6.
So although I suppose I discern patterns in their behaviour, I never sure who will be the next one to worry about

Report
scattyspice · 21/04/2009 12:48

Hi again.

Mad - swan is right, they do go through extreme phases anyway (without added chaos). You think you know your child then they completely change! DD was always really placcid until about 3 then developed a very spirited streak lol. Actually I was quite pleased as DS has always had spirit and I was worried that dd was too compliant!

Galen - hope you are starting to get back to normal after your difficult trip. I am going to see Dad and stepmum (who is terminally ill) this weekend, not taking dc this time. I want to see how Dad is.

To do
add tel sis and dad to list.
