greasy stain on new silk dress!

Any tips on how to remove a greasy mark from a pure silk dress? Woman at the dry cleaners says although the dress is labelled 'dry clean only' the mark probably won't come out that way - aarrggh!

Can't believe the dry cleaner said it wouldn't come out? The chemical used in dry cleaning machines immediately takes out grease, that is the nature of the chemical.....weird....maybe she is too scared to dry clean your dress incase it gets ruined, is it detailed (with sequins, pearls, trim etc) or is it a very strong colour?

I'd take it to another dry cleaners TBH. Then at least if something goes wrong (fingers crossed) you are covered.

No the dress is 100% pure silk but has no sequins or any tricky details on it -I think I will try somewhere else.

hi

what u could do it, pour flour over the stained part before u take it to be cleaned, the flour will absorb the oil and the dress can be cleaned as normal, my friend from jordan told me this when i spilt oil on a top and it worked for me

hope thats helps
