neglected cream leather suite

title says it all, i havent given it a good clean in about a year, had to funally give in this evening after DS got paint on it. im using the care kit that came with it but im just wondering if theres any tricks or tips to keeping it in good nick without having to do the whole process every other week.

ive been told not to use them cause they have a bit of alcohol in them and it dries out the leather?? cant imagine what they do to my babes skin!!
