How do I deal with the large deposit blocking the toilet which I know doesn't belong to anyone in my family...

Ordinarily could deal with it but its making my stomach turn! Any thoughts on removal which don't involve sticking my hand in the toilet??

how do you know its not of your family?
and if it isn't how did it get there?

It was FIL. Nobody else been here today.

Really can't face it

Do you have a problem with shitting poltergeists or something?

You could try poking it with a kitchen implement stick I suppose.

Boiling water helps to break things up.

Downside: poo steam [bleurgh].

I know technically FIL is part of my family but not in the " I love you so will remove your blockage" sense

Plunger?
My toilet isn't plumbed quite right and blocks all the time. Plunger clears it no problem and if you flush at the same time you don't have to see the erm deposit

Poo steam is worse - if you can smell it, it means particles of it are in your nose. blech

If it's the FIL it's your DHs responsibility. Hand him the bog brush and retire to a comfy chair while he deals with it.

FrayedKnot · 18/09/2008 22:23

No no no

Do not touch it

Just keep filling buckets and chucking them down

fishnet · 18/09/2008 22:24

Like the way you think whomovedmychocolate. Unfortunately DH is out on the town!

Might leave it for him though!

Another vote for buckets, preferably poured from high up! Our flush/plumbing is rubbish and it always sorts it.

Chuck a load of bleach down and leave it overnight.

Report
whomovedmychocolate · 18/09/2008 22:26

Oh definitely leave it then and tomorrow when he sobers up - give him the bog brush and say "I can't believe you did that when you were drunk - sort it and then you can make a start on begging my forgiveness for your behavoir"

Dh says pour bucket of water slowly down front of pan, apparently crates a vacum and clears it. Good luck.

I hope you don't get splashback when you do this!

Get a wire coathanger and break it up. Then flush. And throw out coathanger. Then vomit.

FairLadyRantALot · 18/09/2008 23:20

my vote is for plenty of bleach and leaving it over night...shoud break it up....

Shrieking in appalled fascination at poo steam.

How did you get on fishnet???
You should think yourself lucky. At least you know your FIL. I was once left with the bottom deposit of the man who delivered my new bed.
