creating a menu

I absolutely hate having to come up with what to cook each and every day! I am not a creative cook and looking in a fridge full (or empty!) of ingredients does not inspire me at all.

I have decided to start creating menus so I don't do the post -school -OMG -what -shall -I -make -today crisis ....does anyone know any good websites that help you do this? or have any ideas that will help me???

thanks!

I am also rubbish. I did find, though, that if you have "favourites" and you only want them once a week or so, it does fill up quite a lot on a month menu and make it not quite so huge to fill. Don't know how many/age DC you have, but kids love to help with this kind of power! Ask them to help...they may even write it for you!

I have 2 children, one nearly 6, one 3.

they are driving me crazy at the moment as they both like different stuff! I refuse to make 2 different meals as I already have to cook for them and DH when he comes in!!!!!

I decide roughly what we are going to have for the week at the weekend, then shop to fit the menu (eg chicken, sausages, pasta, jacket pots etc). I stick everything apart from that day's meal in the freezer (talking about meat, pizzas, quiche etc) then decide the night before and take it out and put it in the fridge.

not that difficult really, occasionally I cook something the night before so I don't have to cook the following day (stew is good for this). We always have veg and salad stuff and cheese in the fridge and rice and pasta in the cupboard. And usually fishfingers and chips in the freezer for when I have run out of ideas/food!

do you do different recipes, or tend to cook the same stuff?
