Could it be limescale - try descaling it.

I get this a lot with various irons, im in a hard water area and its usually got bits of limescale in, time to clean the iron, does it have a self clean function? use that and all manner of crap comes spurting out of the holes!!

buy a sachet of descaler which works for irons and kettles.. or.....
fill it with white vinegar and water quite a strong mix , leave over night then rinse by tipping away and refilling water. fill with clean water and then turn on a lower temperature with high steam setting, then it should all dribble through the holes. i find its worse stuff coming out of the steam is set too high for the actual ironing temperature as its not getting hot enough to make steam and so gunky water comes out

are sue sure there is no self clean, ive had it on all my irons from a 15.00 one to a 70.00 one.

get an descaler sachet from supermarket/wilkos much faster.
