Husband used steel scrubber on wooden floor - help!

Hi all! My husband was trying to remove a stain on our polished parquet floor, and decided to use a steel scrubber on it Shock.

Now there is a patch that is a different texture to the rest - it hasn't taken off the colour but is very visible when the light shines on it.

Any tips on how to fix this?

Thanks!

If it's only texture then an incredibly fine grit sand paper and blend it into the surrounding area and then see if it needs re-touching up.

When I say incredibly fine grit, I'm talking about starting off with what my dad always called flour paper something like P1000 or P1200

Thanks all!

Considered sanding but didn't want to make it worse, but suppose will smooth out the surface and then could apply some polish over that?

Steel scourer is husband's go to tool for all jobs Hmm Grin

Superfine sandpaper blended in to the edges will work. Note. I'm not kidding about super fine, you're after something that you wouldn't think would be tough enough
