What do you use to clean really grubby skirting boards please? I've been asked to help clean a house and want to tackle them first off. Thanks.

Not what you asked, but surely if you clean the skirting boards before the walls, all your hard work may be undone.

Walls are wallpapered. She wants the skirting boards and windows done.

CIF on a nylon scouring pad - white scourer suitable for non-stick pans and magic sponge for very stubborn marks. You'll need to wipe them down afterwards. If the paint had yellowed nothing with get them white again other than re-painting.

If you are cleaning a whole house, start with the kitchen and bathroom and completely clean a room at a time. Trying to clean all the skirting boards will take a while and it's soul destroying not to have a room completed despite lots of work. The only job I would do all at once but after everything else is cleaning the insides of the windows.
