Carpet Moths HELP!!

DaisyChain22 · 16/09/2018 15:44

I am well and truly disgusted. I only have carpet on my stairs and in my bedroom, so haven’t bothered to replace my hoover which works ok but doesn’t do a great job. I’m due to have a baby in 5 weeks so this morning decided would do a deep clean, I moved the bed out to hoover and discovered a patch of carpet missing. On deeper inspection it would seem there is some kind of moth infestation.

I saw some of the larvae and the casings, have hoovered thoroughly and scrubbed at the carpet etc but what do I do now? I honestly feel sick to my stomach and dont know what to do Sad

have a read of this, it basically is a kit that completely kills them off.

They are the same moth that eat clothes - so keep your wardrobe shut and get some moth repellant.
I never managed to kill mine - ended up with new carpet - man made rather than wool - not seen them since

Thanks to you both for your replies. @fluffyunicorns Yes we have carpet which i suspect is a very high percentage of wool. I feel like ripping it all up and replacing with wooden floorboards Sad

My FIL swears by steam cleaning for his issues with carpet moths. He has one of those karcher ones that he used recently to kill them.
