Sorry if it's the wrong place to post I just need some advice (and reassurance) about learning to drive. I have driven 20 hours so far with lessons up to 4 times a week but I am struggling to get to grips with it. I understand how it all works and I have had a 'go' of everything you're expected to learn, but physically cannot make myself handle clutch control or things like steer, change gear and check mirrors all at the same time. I panic especially around other drivers and often stall or make a mistake like clip the kerb and need my instructor to take over. My instructor is becoming impatient with me and doesn't explain anything clearly so the communication isn't there any longer. I feel under pressure now and as an older first time driver extremely nervous which hasn't faded from my first lesson. I feel I am getting worse due to the pressure and it is making me want to give up. Unfortunately I have paid upfront and I am not allowed a refund if I change my mind so I have to continue with the same instructor for another 15 lessons or lose all my money. Has anyone here been through this and carried on and came out as a good driver? what would you suggest I do? I feel like a bad driver and cannot imagine myself passing a test. Relatives have told me to give up or go automatic. I wanted to do this for me and show I can do it but now facing the reality I don't think I can. Any tips to help me improve please!?
