UPVC Window frame cleaning

I've moved into a new house and the upvc window frames are really dirty. Not from the outside or inside I mean the sides and bits when you have the windows open. They are black with dirt.

I've just spent an hour cleaning one with 3 buckets of water and a steamer. I have 11 more to do.

Is there a company that will come and clean them for you? I'm considering new windows just because they are apparently 20 years old anyway and I cant face 2 days of just cleaning frames.

You could try googling after build cleans that may work. I'm in the West Midlands and can recommend a company if you are local.

If it’s not too late try old fashioned Vim scouring powder and water. It worked for me.

You can get special cleaner for UPVC. I have one I got in Lakeland and it's done a good job on my filthy back door frame.

Vim might scratch the surface of the upvc though. There are companies who do clean frames - a quick google should find them in your area.

I used vim (autocorrect is wanting to keep changing it to bum), VIM was great on mine.
