How to get rid of pit stains...

My husband wears a lot of white t-shirts .

We put them on a normal 40c wash with some Oxy powder whitener added in also, which gets them clean... but there's still yellowy stains at the armpits.

Any tips to get rid of the yellow pits please? and does this mean there's still sweat bacteria on the clothes ? :-/

It’s a reaction of the aluminium in deodorant and sweat (dread to think what’s seeping in to the body considering it’s being sprayed with basically foil, but that’s another story).

Go back to the oxy Powder, but instead of just adding it to the wash cycle, soak the shirts in a solution of oxy powder mixed with warm (hand warm) water, minimum 6 hours, but preferably overnight. Use a plastic (not metal) bucket.

It’s getting increasingly hard to get hold of here, but the actual “Oxi Clean” I find to be the best, but Vanish works too.
