Storage inside closet/built in wardrobes

Those of you that have closets / built in wardrobes - what storage do you have inside it?

I'm moving to a new house at the weekend that has closets in each bedroom. They already have hanging rails, but I'm wondering what I can put in there for clothes. I am thinking perhaps some kind of freestanding cube shelf unit? I'm not keen on those canvas type things that you hang from the rail... although that could be good for shoes.

Ideas please!
