Help me get this clean so I can have a bath?

I inherited a jacuzzi bath when I first moved in to my house, but it looks as though the bath was never wired in as there's no way to turn the jets on.

They really need cleaning as I can't have a normal bath without things floating out of them, but all the advice I have found is to add cleaner to the water and turn the jets on!

Help! I really want a bath tonight as I've got stomach cramps - how can I fix it?

Kim and Aggie advised using dishwasher powder and I had a quick Google and found that dishwasher powder and a glug of bleach in the bath filled two thirds full wuth warm water and left running for 5-10 minutes was recommended. I'd then empty it and refill it then run it again to rinse off any detergent and bleach residues.

Sorry - just realised you can't turn it on. Are you sure there isn't a switch somewhere? Is there a label on the consumer unit for it at all? If there is, it suggests it is wired in.

Might not help tonight but if you're absolutely sure they're not wired in you can buy waterproof moldable filler called miliput. You could plug each hole with it. It sets hard. It's great stuff! Good luck.

No buttons or anything - not even a brand name on it!

The moldable filler sounds good, thanks!

Oooh - this is my first MN post! We also acquired a Jacuzzi bath with our new house and I had the same issue. Turns out that there is an additional switch on the wall behind my bathroom door (presumably to isolate the power) The button on the actual bath won't do anything unless the second switch is turned on. Mine looks just like a light switch - maybe have a hunt to see if there are any additional switches out of reach of the bath?

No additional switches, and the button on my bath is actually a bit like a cap that's not connected to anything underneath!

Is there a shower over the bath? An electric one? I wonder if the shower switch is also wired up to the bath. I have no idea if it possible for this to have been done, just wondering why on earth anyone would fit a jacuzzi bath and not make it actually usable.
