How do I get the smell of smoke out of dining chairs?

My mum has given us four chairs, in otherwise lovely condition but they actually reek of smoke like everything that comes from her house. I’ve washed the covers but the smell has seeped through into the seat padding. Febreeze? Bicarb? Help!

Yeah either. I think I would try bi carb first leave it on for a while to absorb the smell then vacuum off. Failing that Febreeze failing that re covered.

Wait til the summer and air them in the garden every day, as well as the febreeze. Although, I suppose, it would be rotten if a bird shat on them.
