What is the one thing in your house your obsessed with doing or just can't stand if it's not done??

Mine is the floors. The house could be a pigsty but the floors need to be clear, hoovered and clean. I once realised I had hoovered 4 times in one day 🙊 and that was without any kids mess. C

Surfaces

Pretty obsessed with the bath. And the floors in general.

Washing, I have to set the washer off first thing in the morning,also surfaces can’t stand clutter everywhere or crumbs on worktop- I’m a bit ocd actually I hate mess.

Laundry - the carpets might not be hoovered and floors not mopped but I always have an empty washing basket as I actually like sorting and washing clothes and don’t trust DH or anyone else to do it as well 😬

Not cleaning as such, but too many shoes and coats by the front door drives me nuts. We have a coat stand by the door, and a rack for current shoes, and we also have a coat cupboard at the other end of the hall, which stores the rest of our boots/trainers/rain coats etc.
I seem to be the only one capable of putting things back in the cupboard that aren't going to be worn that day. Kids will have school shoes/trainers/normal shoes on the floor by the front door, DH will have about 5 different coats on the stand so there's no room for mine when I come in. I see the mess every time I come down the stairs so I have to put everything away as nobody else is bothered. Also get a bit twitchy when eldest leaves her PE trainers there to dry.

The bathroom has to be clean.

Stainless steel kitchen sink has to be polished with a microfiber cloth after each use so there are no watermarks. I hate that it bothers me, it's so bloody anal to care!

Laundry. Everything worn in the day gets washed and hung to dry at night before I go to bed.

Dishwasher. Everything has a place and I get the rage when people put pans on top or glasses on the bottom. All plates must be in size order and cutlery the right way up.

When you've cooked, cleaned and the kitchen looks right, the dishwasher is going, you sit down to relax and your teenage son goes in to make a snack - cheese on toast is popular at the moment (after he's had his dinner). Bangs. Head. Against. Brick. Wall.

Yes he should clean up after himself, and he does, but come on, you know what that really means.

And the fridge - all things have a place in there too. And no cardboard or packaging on yoghurts. And all packaging from veg and salad must be removed before it goes into drawers.

Clean sheets on the bed once a week.

I would love to have clean sheets every day or every couple of days but would never keep up with the laudry. My partner never thinks to change them, i guess because he knows I will always do it.

Can't stand the dresser drawers and doors being left open. Dd does it sometimes as DH does it all the bloody time.

Also the mat in front of the fire. I like it kept straight come in from work and it is either pushed into little hillocks from DH s feet or sque wife to the hearth.😱 drives me mad.
I like the carpet vacuumed every day and it keeps the carpets cleaner and wear better. DH doesn't see the need for this. Once a week would suit him. I like it done in the morning so when I come in I can relax with a cup of tea. Sometimes I have to get it out as soon as I come home because other people are making a mess while I am at work😠😤😖

Anything sticky needs to be wiped up ASAP.

Not sure if I was as obsessed before DH & DD came along, maybe it’s a preventative move so the stickiness doesn’t get transferred to every other surface in the house.

I only really growl when I put my hand on the kitchen tap and it’s slimy or tacky or grimy. Makes me shudder deep inside- not in a good way.

If I am being (my sad) honest self, would have to say everything, but if I'm not allowed that,

Kitchen and Bathrooms must be pristine at all times and floors hoovered and mopped.

I would happily have 10 full washing baskets and an inch layer of dust everywhere, but kitchen, bathroom and floors not negotiable, whole house looks a state if they're not done.
