Outdoor line-dry smell when tumble drying?

I LOVE the line-dried smell on my bedding, so stripped my bed today and hung it all out. It started to rain before the stuff was dry - it had been out for about four hours and smelled lovely but was damp.

So I finished it off in the tumble drier, only to end up with it all floppy and smelling 'indoorsy'. Does anyone know if there's a way to keep that 'outdoor dried' smell when tumble drying?

IME, and despite what the fabric softener manufacturers say, the "outdoorsy" smell, cannot be replicated inside.

*replicated if drying inside or in a tumble dryer.

Thanks, e1y1, that is what I feared. I cannot bear the smell of fabric softener anyway. I shall wait for better weather!
