Dishwasher problem

Right I'm after some help. I've accidentally put soda crystals in the salt compartment of my dishwasher. Very stupid I know! It was about a month ago now, I've tried to add more of the correct salt in over the past month but the dishes are coming out with Ike a snowy fine salty effect. Does anyone know if there is a better way to sort this out? I've read the manual and it says nothing about the salt compartment and or if you needed to empty it due to someone like me putting the wrong salt it! Looking in to it the only thing I have found is to take the damm thing apart to get the salt compartment out!
Any help would be great!

I've accidentally left the salt cap off before and ran washer which emptied all the salt out! Could try that?

I've done the same as chocolate and the salt container emptied too.
