Please help me with hoovers!

I'm on the hunt for a new hoover.

I'm aware these threads are never ending, and of all the ones I've read everyone seems to recommend Miele. Getting a Miele is a life changing experience apparently?!

I'm really trying not to spend too much but if I have to I can use the Take 3 options with Very to split the cost into 3 months.

I've narrowed it down to either the Miele Cat & Dog or the Dyson DC40 Animal. I have a dog and a cat!

What hoover do you have? Are the Miele really as amazing as they seem?!

Yes Miele cat & dog is amazing. Mine is 10 years old and still going strong!

Do you get any attachments for it?! I like to use a Hoover for dusting and things too. Are the Miele attachments all buy separate kind of thing?

I'm going to be controversial, I have a Henry Hoover for pets and love it.

Actually - no. Miele is by far the worst hoover I have ever owned (so much so, I would be very hard pushed to buy a Miele anything).

Not really a fan of Dysons either.

I like Vax, they perform very well, the only issue is longevity - they don't seem to last all that well, so I buy in the sales and then it is not too much of a loss.

My current Vax was £89.99 down from £229.00. It also came with a 6-year guarantee, I bought it on Black Friday last year, and it broke around August time, got it replaced with a brand new one for £3.99, and the 6 year (well now 5 year) guarantee continues on the replacement.

So even if I need 10 replacements in the next 5 years, I don't really care,(even if I paid £3.99 each time, that is only £39.99) and the hoovers that go back are going back direct to Vax and would assume they would be fixed/refurbished, or broken down into parts and recycled.

THIS is similar to my Miele - junk, has been in for repair 5 times.

THIS is my Vax - I luffs it, it is coming up at £139.99 now, but still has the 6 year guarantee.

My Miele is used everyday and still works like new. There isn't many products I do recommend but I really love my Miele.

Our Mielle is at least ten years old and going strong. I have replaced the turbo head once. The only thing that irritates me is how difficult it is to get long hair off the brush, with my old Hoover you could take the brush out to clean ir.
