Range cookers

Thinking about buying a range cooker - tried looking on line, reading reviews, going to shops - just overloaded now and can't make a decision!
Don't have oodles to spend (hubby wants to spend £2000, I think less would be preferable!).
Anyway, love the look of them, but many seem to have quite narrow ovens? I cook for 4 -5 adults each day so need the extra burners plus a decent size oven.
Have wondered about the range cookers with one oven and integrated grill, that way the oven is bigger.
To be honest, atm I can't see me using the two/three ovens that much , just want something that is practical but looks modern and stylish. (this house needs radical updating!)
I also prefer cooking with gas (both oven and hob) but that drives the price up considerably so will probably go for dual.
Anyone got some suggestions? Been plodding along with a worn out, inefficient and unreliable wall oven for a long time so want to make sure, as much as possible, that I'm buying the right one.
Just thought others will have experience of these and could offer some practical suggestions to help me decide. Thanks.

I too preferred gas - but an electric fan oven converted me. I have my eye on a Stoves electric range with an induction hob.

I have one of these, I wanted the extra oven functions. DH wasn't convinced but the top or bottom extra heat, fan / no fan options have been well used.

He thought the grill was useless, it really is only good for toast and other skinny things. But the oven has a grill in the top and a setting for it - once he realised that he was happier, he even used it and changed the setting for the last 10 minutes to crisp up the top of his fish pie

The narrow oven on the right has been great, plate warming is amazing after 10 years in a freezing cold house. It gets used for things that need different heat or for keeping things warm, warming takeaways (we live 15 miles form the nearest good one) and I bake in it... not sure why, but it works well and is almost 'my' oven

The rings are nice, the wok ring has had a lot of use and you can fit other pans round it. I have cooked for 8 over 3 weeks with no problem... though I am used to a galley kitchen and a skinny cooker, so maybe it just felt easier.

We have a rangemaster 110cm wide, 6 burners, two normal size ovens, plus a grill, all gas. Cost about £1650, so right on your budget.
Direct replacement for the last one which lasted 20 years
