Toxic sweat

Sorry in advance for ickiness. I have no idea what DH does at night but he sweats buckets of what seems to be stinky acid. I wash bedding once a week. His pillows and mattress protector once a month. The mattress protectors are destroyed on his side in six months. Pillows don't fare much better. He showers mon-fri every morning after going to the gym. I'm at my wits' end with the expense of bedding and this hideous acidic rotting smell every morning. Anyone have any clues?

Have you tried a dehumidifier pack in your bedroom?

We have one in a wardrobe (next to chimney breast so gets a bit bleurgh.) Actually his wardrobe! Can't work out what that would do with him and his excretions though (maybe being dim)

Thought it may absorb some of moistness in room?
Could it be related to his diet?

But what could he eat to make him this bad? We both eat reasonably healthily. He likes chocolate (lots!) but is a gym bunny (x5 a week).

Can he be encouraged to shower at night too? If he's been to the gym in the morning and then showered he's still getting sweaty during the day. Perhaps look at what your mattress protector/pillows and quilt are made from too, manmade fibres make a lot of people sweat more.

Unlikely re washing penny don't get me wrong he's not a grubby person apart from these excretions. He gets cross/upset if I say the slightest thing. All cotton bedding. I'm going to have to boil him!

The fitter you are the more you sweat. My DH also sweats a lot at night and there is not much you can do, we now have a heat regulator mattress, it's new so don't know if it helps much. Pillow protectors, mattress protector but I would like to find a duvet protector as they are such a pain to wash and dry.

In the morning pull the duvet back and air the bed before making.
