Easy way to clean hard floors?

Downstairs i have a tiled kitchen floor and a doorwayvthrough to a large quarry tiled room - dining room. It gets very dusty/bitty as the back door is off the kitchen, i iften have the door open, cats in and out, people in and out.

I sweep but find i spend a lot of time wafting stuff about. The quarry tiles get small bits/dust in between.

I dont want to be lugging the henry down to hoover (althouh just started another thread about hand held hoover)

Just wonder what else is an option? I mop/scrub kitchen floir but just sweep the quarry tiles.

I normally Hoover hard floors unless it's the garage - much more efficient at picking up bits than sweeping. Then I mop them. Do you have good doormats down inside and out? They can make a huge difference. Buy washable ones and have a spare so you can a clean one down whilst one is being washed and dried.

I also make sure shoes worn for gardening and odd-jobbing in the garage, etc and removed before getting beyond the utility room.

I got a Bosch Athlet- does a brilliant job on our wood floors, tiles and rugs. It picks up a surprising amount on floors which looked clean!

Then I use a Vileda 1 2 Spray mop- makes it so easy to clean the floors.

Throw a large Labrador in the river
Let him shake in the relevant room
Encourage your children to run around the room in their stocking feet
Leave to dry
