How do you make your bed look tidy?

I have polycotton sheets and duvet cover so it's not creases looking messy, I just don't know how to arrange the duvet so it looks tidy.

How do you make your bed?

I fold my duvet back to the end of the bed, then back again, so kind of in thirds across the end, to air the bed. I then smooth the sheet and arrange the pillows. I think it looks neat, though not in a traditionally made way. I do this with all three beds, though if someone's coming to stay the duvet gets smoothed with pillows on top.

My duvet has 35 stripes on it so I find the 18th an put that dead in the centre so equal amounts hang on both sides. I shake the pillows downwards so they are plump and then turn them over, so the plumpness is at the top.
I put cushions on the bed lining them up with the stripes on the duvet so they are symmetrical. I lay a throw across the bottom making sure it is perfectly matched to the duvet.


I then go down stairs and take my Prozac.

DustyMaiden I really do plump up the pillows and turn them over! Then I just make it look kinda neat and shut the door. Then the dog opens the door and jumps on top and spends the day there.....

Just turn the duvet back neatly and evenly and straighten/plump the pillows. Left like that to air it looks neat. No cushions etc for me.

I do what Ekkwhine does, and leave the window open to give the room a good airing.

I tuck the duvet into the bottom of the bed an inch or so, so that it stops moving around so much. In the mornings just fold it in half to air it, and smooth the sheets. That's as tidy as it gets!

just throw the duvet either up to cover the bed and smooth over or throw it back on itself to air the bed. Either way it looks neat and takes about 3 seconds.

Like others I just fold the duvet back on itself neatly to air the bed - I might plump up the pillows if I want it to look tidier.

I buy two matching sets so I always have a clean, matching bed set!

Anyway I don't actually have a duvet I have a heavy thick throw which looks like a duvet. This means that I never have to wrestle with a duvet cover or iron the bed sheets! :):)

I make the bed, put the pillows on top (after I've plumped them) then put on the dressy cushion thing's. Then put on a soft fluffy throw across the bottom of the bed and smooth everything out. Then run over it with a lint roller.

That's it, simples.

I have a grey throw (wool) that I place over the bed and I iron my pillowcases so they keep fairly well .

Iron the bedding. Good creases are the key to a tidy bed. A down duvet helps when well plumped.
