we need an extra long bed. any recommrndatuons?

I came in here for advice on replacing our mattress. But other expenses intervened, children being what they are, and last night the base of our specifically made iron bedstead sheered off. Don't ask.

Anyhow, it's currently propped up on books. But I want to get a 7 ' one, or 6'9", as DH is tall with a bad back and this is only 6'6". So we need a mattress and a bed now.

I've googled but wonder if anyone has any recommendations? Or what I shouldn't buy?
