Recycling bin issues

We have alternate week collections for various bins. I have missed the last two collections because the refuse collectors have suddenly decided to come round at some unearthly hour of the morning. So, this week the bins went out last night.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the routine has changed again and today they have still not been collected. I have just been out to add in a few recyclable items and have found two carrier bags of the wrong kind of rubbish have mysteriously appeared in my bin.
I know this is not one of life's major problems, but it does irritate me.
It has annoyed me more than the time I caught our neighbour secretly slipping her special brew cans into my bottle bin!
Short of staying up all night to keep watch, or installing CCTV, I am at a loss to know what to do to prevent this happening, does anyone else have this problem or, better still, any solution?

I would suggest not worrying about it :)

Was just annoyed at having to sort other people's rubbish first thing, but you are so right, I will finish my coffee and take a deep breath before posting in future!

You can get some kind of gravity lock for wheelie bins. I haven't got one, but I think you open it with a key to put your rubbish in. It opens automatically when tipped by the bin lorry. We would get fined if anything incorrect is in bin.

What I meant was, it's happened once (ignoring the Special Brew cans which were, at least, properly filed) and you're talking about CCTV and staying up all night. Something is only worth worrying about if it is a regular occurrence.
