What do you think is the better out of the two?

I have a Bosch, have had for seven years. Hasn't broken down. Like its short wash programme, 35 mins for mixed load. Haven't had an LG though have had other appliances of theirs that have been good.

I think they are pretty much on a par.

The older models are a lot different to the new ones. Anyone got a newer model?

I've got very new bosch excel 8 I bought it from appliances online. It's brilliant - quick, quiet, cleans everything perfectly (and I have two young and messy children)

What cycles do you find best to use on the Bosch Chubfuddler? Is it the 1200 or 1400 spin? I have been looking at this one. Smile

To be precise its an Exxcel 8 varioperfect. It's got a 1400 spin but it's all a bit clever and adjusts itself according to what is in it. I tend to put most clothing on a mixed load 40 degree 1400 and then press speed perfect if stuff isn't very soiled as it reduces the cycle time by about 50%. Eco perfect is odd because it takes longer but apparently uses less electricity and water. Only used that a few times though. I've had it six weeks and I love it.

Have you tried the wool wash Chubfuddler? IF so is it any good and can the machine handle small loads? What Lg model did you get hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman?

I have a new lg and really rate it :) have used virtually every cycle except wool and have found it faultless regardless of load size.

Have a look at the panasonic, the one with the drum that tilts (sorry, i know that's not what you asked) I have used lots of washing machines (nursing people ate home and various rented flats) best washing machine ever, great for stain removal, v water efficient, I have the. 8 kg one, spins up to 1600 rpm which is great if you use a tumble drier as it reduced drying time, i love it.

Obviously nursing people AT home, not eating their homes!

I got a new Bosch a couple of weeks ago after the previous one died after over 11 years without a problem- I don't think it owes me anything!
I got a Logixx 9 varioperfect. So far so good, my only disappointment being that at £600 it doesn't present the load dried and ironed Grin
