How often do you Hoover?

We have a dark beige/brown carpet that shows every crumb. How often do you Hoover?

Dp's socks leave lots of tiny black flecks on the carpet which are a right pain to try and get off.

Feel like I Hoover all the time butnta never enough! It needs doing everyday, I would of I had time!

Most days!!!! Tis a pain in the arse but I only do the downstairs every day, middle and top floor 2-3 times a week [if I can be bothered to carry the Hoover up two flights Wink]!

Every day downstairs, twice a week upstairs/on the stairs (tho do the stairs more often in the hols when we are here all day!)

If I miss a day downstairs it looks sooooooo gakky. We have moved to a bigger house but it still only takes about 10 mins. Sometimes I (well DD actually) sweep the kitchen floor instead but still need to hoover the living room etc.

I don't have carpet so I sweep. Should really buy a hoover. Clean lot my floor with floor wipes and this removes all dust.. maybe I should hoover though???

Most days. We also have light carpet but it's oatmeal with a twist, more forgiving than the plain dark blue we had before.

Could you buy DP a pair of slippers as a huge subtle hint, would he wear them?

Everyday downstairs as cannot get away with anything less with 4dc who have an affection for crisps & cake Grin

Upstairs, when i can be bothered, roughly every fortnight and sometimes once a month Blush

Sounds like my deep red wine carpet, shows up everything, you can hoover it then in 10 mins later its covered again, so i tend to hoover every single day, but if you came here you would think i have not hoovered that day lol xxx

Once a week. That makes me sound like a slattern, but we don't wear shoes indoors, we don't have any pets and DD is now 12 and pretty sensible. We also have carpets that don't show up every single speck of dirt.

Whole house weekly, with a whizz around any mucky bits with the DustBuster in between.

I'm more of a avoiding-making-the-mess-in-the-first-place person. We don't have food anywhere except in the kitchen and dining room which have lino and wood floors.

Tell your DP he has to wear slippers or deal with the mess he's making.

Is it one room in the house with the dark carpet? I would just restrict food to the kitchen/dining area.

Stairs and bedrooms about 3-4 times a week.

I hate hoovering and do it as seldom as I can get away with.

Fortunately most of our downstairs is wood floor so doesn't need hoovering, just sweeping which I don't mind.

I probably do the rugs once a week on a schedule, plus extras if I think they look bad. Stairs/landing once a month. Bedrooms theoretically fortnightly but that is slightly optimistic.

To be frank, given how much I loathe the Hoover I think I do quite well.
