Which wash?

I have just bought a stripey black and white bath mat. It is 50% black and 50% white. Which wash would you put it in? Darks or lights? Confused

I would wash it separate, initially at 30 or 40 degrees, low spin with non-bio powder.

After this initial wash, I would probably switch to bio powder and possibly 60 degrees if necessary, again on its own.

I would just do a 40 degrees for the first few washes and stick one of those stain catcher sheets in.

Bloody nightmare. You've sent shudders through my spine. Take it back.

Hah, MrsPontipine I think I might just do that! One of those purchases where you get home and think, oh no, why did I do that?

But I can't be faffing around washing it on its own. With two littlies, one of whom is currently potty training, the washer is on constantly as it is.

Things with white sleeves, white stripes, white colars, white in them spend most of their life at the bottom of my linen bin while I'm deciding how to wash them. Eventually they get grown out of (ds' stuff and occasionally mine). They're in fabulous condition!! As they have very very minimal use :( then they get passed on!!

For bath mats I have loads of those small stripey cotton mats from Ikea (about £1 each) They're white with other thin stripes. They will wash with my whites and behave themselves - also dry quickly so don't mooch around the bathroom all soggy. Smile

Mixed colours, like sky blue & browns.
