As it says really- my pillows are doing nowt for me at the moment, have gone all flat and sad. Need some new ones, don't want to spend the earth and don't mind feather or synthetic as long as they have got some substance to them and won't be like pancakes in 5 mins. Ta :)

With pillows you really need to spend money on them, I buy White company synthetic ones but I get them in the sale.

I've slept on john lewis goose down too and it was so comfy.

Shop around and look for end of line reductions etc.

Remember they ought to be replaced every 2 years or so.

Thanks guys & sorry for the late reply! We have a memory foam mattress which I love! Yes think the JL goose ones were our ex pillows actually & bought with wedding gift vouchers. Will see if I can still pick some up
In the sales.

I like flat pillows so im not the best person to ask..

BUT OH got an ikea pillow about 18months ago... not their cheapest, a little bit "firm" (if firm is the correct term for a pillow) He still loves it, and it has lasted a lot better than my John Lewis (one of the cheap lines) that i bought at the same time.

(I have allergies to dustmites and feathers so need synthetic pillows that wash & dry really easily)

For me there is absolutely no doubt that feathers are the most comfy,if you don"t have allergy problems)

Thanks Nanny. Do you wash your pillows in your normal washing machine at home? I wonder if it might help to revive my synthetic ones until I make my mind up about what to get. Checked out White Co website last night & they have some good deals. Also some steeply priced pillows, well out of my price range anyway, but some good discounts on others.

yes, at 60C.... normally 2 at a time.

sometimes they need reshaping a bit, but others are fine.

I always wash them on a hot day in the summer as they take a while to line dry!!!

The best thing I found was to buy decent (not necessarily expensive) pillows and then buy quilted pillow-protector thingies to go over them, before you put the pillowslip on. Stops them going flat/minging/stinky
