Do I need to handwash a fairy outfit - can I just bung it in the washing machine

Thinking of just bunging DD's new fairy outfit in the washing machine at 30 degrees wool cycle - will the sequins survive.

I hate hand washing (which is what the label says) and I find it isn't so effective as getting stains out.

We have tons of fairy dresses in this house and I wash them all in the machine on a gentle wash. Most have survived many years of wear and washing before looking too disheveled

I would put it inside a pillowcase, either tie up one end or secure it with a hair elastic, and wash that on a delicates/wool wash.

Cold wash with minimal spin should work.

Just beware if it has velcro on for attaching fairy wings.. bitter experience Otherwise- machine wash is fine :)

I do the opposite to peachybums!

I would handwash (with a delicates liquid) in the bath. Rinse once, with lukewarm water. Then I put it in a gentle rinse and spin in the machine. :)

I do dd's on a normal 30 deg wash - they're practically dry when they come out, wings and all. They're more robust than you might think..all that lovely polyester (unless you have much posher dressing up stuff than us!)

As predicted it has survived. Lovely polyester of course and it was coming apart even after only a few wears even before I subjected it to the washing machine.
