Anyone else's home ed WhatsApp / Facebook groups descended into utter batshittery over the past few weeks?

This morning alone I've read a lengthy explanation of why many of us aren't yet spiritually ready to engage in fire rituals and anoint our 'starseeds' (children) to the task of renewing the earth; seen a couple of conspiracy vaccine videos; and waded through several rants with a freemen of the land/ personal sovereignty theme.

My lot keep it off the groups because they think they are being watched but when we were meeting in parks before Christmas there was all sorts of freemen on the land and anti-vaxxing going on. Also exosomes!

The dads are the worst here. A new ager and a Christian spent a meetup proselytising each other, mine is a military history enthusiast and will lob in the odd bon mot about revolutions to keep things going

Yes! Somebody asked someone else to give a bit more info about the various conspiracy theories - and they refused on the grounds that WhatsApp is being monitored so please could we take the chat over to Telegram (is it Telegram, am I remembering it correctly?)....

Glad it's not just my groups, then. Where are all the mainstream sheeple home edders? I think they're my crew.

I have no idea TBH. The more normal ones I know are from the local small city, the more out there ones are from my nearest town, I'm in a village in between. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Hi I'm new to mums net and a new home educator. Does anyone have experience with home educating primary school year 1 and can advise on best books to use to cover national curriculum subjects? Also I'm in South London and haven't got a response back from South London home educators group? Do they still exist? Anyone know other similar groups in London?
