MIDLANDS HOME EDUCATION FAIR 2014
An event catering for those new to home education or thinking about it.
multisite.replenishnewmedia.com/homeedwestmids/

Hosted on the outskirts of Birmingham, the Home Education Fair West Midlands is an opportunity to find out about Home Education.

We have Fiona Nicholson of edyourself.org coming to do a workshop on legalities, Local Authorities, getting started, as well as a Q&A session with previously home educated young people who are now grown up.

On the day there will be:

Info on local groups, activities and events in your area
Craft activities for kids (not a crèche)
A café run by home educated young people serving tea, juices and homemade cakes.

Entry is free but there is a suggested donation of £3 per family to help cover running costs.

Please note: We want to keep the fair open to all with a focus on information and skills sharing, therefore we are not hiring stalls which offer curricula and services to home educators.
When?

Saturday 18th October, 2014 from 14:30 – 17:30.
Where?

The Parish Centre, Sandhills Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham, West Midlands, England, B45 8NR.

Is this just for people local to birmingham area or is it a national event?

It's open to anyone new to home education, or interested in doing it. You would be welcome, where ever you live.
It's based near Birmingham as an alternative to the one held in London each year

We are hoping to go. I am grumpy though as I searched in the garage for the map of Birmingham, and did battle with the cobwebs, only to find the place we need is just off the edge of the maps pages...

I was thinking of patenting ds as a demolition machine (school has pissed him off considerably and we have the angry child) but this may mean that you do not let him in.

You might recognise me there as the person disappearing out of the door with a small kicking and screeching demolition machine body.

You may recognise his dad as the one with the sceptical face who expects the home-edded kids to have three heads and be socially deprived. I am hoping that this fair can work some magic on him and at least teach him the basics...as he will not accept some of the stuff I am telling him.

Thanks for that, it Looks great. We are just starting out home edding with our almost 4yo and could do with meeting some likeminded people face to face. I have millions or questions!
