Talk to me about bookcases please

So to cut a very long story short we bought (Edwardian semi) last year and have what I thought was lots of space - three reception rooms and five bedrooms. We moved in with the basics as most of our personal stuff has been in storage for a while (lived overseas for 12 years). We are now planning to ship this back but in order to do so need to get shelves/storage in place. My question is how do folks arrange this? Do you have one main room with shelving or dot this around the house? How do you work it around having a tv in the room? We could theoretically have a “study” where we put all our books but I’m not keen on that. Any design or practical solutions would be appreciated. And photos would be amazing!!
