Chrome AND brass in kitchen?

Can you have brass and chrome together in a kitchen?

We're currently renovating our house and putting in a new kitchen, along with an extension to make a big L shaped family room, kitchen cupboards are F&B Hague Blue, white-ish walls and worktops.

I really wanted brass/gold handles and light fittings throughout, but struggling to get a gold coloured tap with a spray on it. Also, our fridge is going to probably be silver coloured too, along with the handles on our cooker.

Would it look stupid to have a mix of metals? I've tried looking on Pinterest as I know the kitchen is a popular colour but I can't seem to find any examples.

Any advice or opinions greatly received!

No actual advice, sorry, but I’m wondering why you’re knocking yourself out trying to find gold accessories and then buying a silver (stainless steel?) fridge??

I don't feel like I have a choice about the fridge really, I want one of the American style ones and they don't seem to come in any other colour.

I’m looking at this at the minute. Get the fridge in black. More fashionable than silver anyway. I don’t know about the mixing metals thing, but I think I’m going to end up doing it.

We've got navy and grey kitchen, white walls a copper coloured, splash back and light fittings but stainless steel ovens and bin. Lots of bright accessories and pictures I. orange, yellow, pink, turquoise and green.
I think it's fine although I don't like the matchy matchy look.

@bitofthesea yes a black fridge is an option, but struggling to find one with no dispenser that isn't much more expensive than the silver ones

@notso oh navy and copper? That sounds so interesting, do you have any photos you wouldn't mind sharing? No problem if not of course

Navy and copper

Grey and copper all good

There is a reason that it is difficult to get gold coloured taps.

Have you looked on ao for the fridge? They have some very reasonable black ones

Hi Op, I think it’s fine to mix metals as long as the finish is the same, so they both need to be either a polished finish or both brushed finish. So if your tap is brushed chrome, I’d go for brushed gold handles on the kitchen. Hope that helps.
