Horrid Gas Fire and Water in a window!

So there's about half a cm of water between the panes in a double glazed window. I guess I need the whole thing replacing? Unless anyone can advise any different?

Also have a horrid gas fire - I've had a look at some fire place shops and a replacement is £££ and I've not seen anything I really like. Any ideas? Has anyone had the old fire completely removed and the gas capped off and replaced by electric? Any suggestions please?

The water trapped between the panes of glass is usually due to the seal in the window wearing away. Some companies will try and replace 1 pane of glass and then re-seal the unit but it's not always cost-effective especially if the windows are quite old already. A lot of companies will also be reluctant to fix windows in this way if they were fitted by a different company (perhaps connected to a warranty).

You can definitely cap off the gas supply and replace the gas fire with an electric one but be careful with measurements. They come in a multitude of sizes and won't necessarily just slot into the space left by your old gas fire.

Thank you!

I'll get the gas capped off and the old fire removed to start with.
