Rug and curtain hunters wanted!

Redecorating the living room, all walls are brilliant white bar the back ‘feature’ wall which is a deep teal (images attached). Can any of you lovely people recommend curtains and/or rug to compliment? We’re aiming for the same tones as not to add too many colours. We’re also going for gold accents e.g. gold mirror and such Grin

Thank you!

Are you going for a very modern look? What style is the mirror going to be?

girlsnotright I’m aiming for Morden with a slight vintage feel, I would love a large circular mirror with a gold edge Grin

Big round mirror sounds lovely. Something like this? www.therugseller.co.uk/vintage-rugs-in-teal/p-41-28043-42136-0 Just to add a bit of variety with tones of colour.
Or this one www.next.co.uk/style/st156638#425620
Curtains could be any tone that is in the rugs?

I had this rug on a shortlist recently - it might be too colourful for you but it's predominantly teal and the yellow would go really nicely with gold accents.

I'm less good with curtains - for me it very much depends on the style of the room and shape of the windows, where they are in relation to furniture etc. If you are keeping it fairly monotone I would try and pick something with some texture to add interest.

Lovely fabric! I also like the geometric rug that @thegirlisnotright linked to. Bit more modern so maybe think about which rug would balance better with the style of your furniture. If you have vintage style furniture a more modern rug might balance it nicely whereas if your furniture is more contemporary a 'softer' patterned rug might suit better.

Which wall(s) will the curtains be on? white or blue or both?

ExplodedPeach I have attached a pic of the sofa, we have a three and a two seater coming so I can create a ‘corner look’ Grin curtains will be in a white wall, large bay window which has a mahogany windowsill if that helps! Grin

Hmm, if you wanted a solid colour then grey could be nice? Or a colour from the same 'family' as the teal feature wall but I wouldn't try and match it, just try and find a complementary shade - maybe a navy with a hint of green, or a pale blue-green. Or you could pick out a colour from whatever rug you end up choosing. I think a fabric similar to the sofa would be nice, maybe in blue/grey tones - might be hard to find though!

Something patterned in white and teal (or maybe another colour, depending on the rug) could also look nice - maybe a trellis type pattern, although not sure if that would interface well with the rug.

Or have you considered shutters? I always think they look great in a bay window, even though I do love the cosiness of curtains!
