Different flooring in kitchen and utility? With pics

Hi again, following great advice in my worktops and flooring thread, I'm back with another request for opinions. Our utility room is galley shaped and is just off the kitchen. You have to walk through it to get to the back door. We're having greige porcelain wood effect tiles/ planks in the large kitchen and I wondered if patterned tiles (seen some nice Laura Ashley ones) in a complementary shade might look nice. I know lots of people have different flooring in utility rooms but would this work when the utility leads straight off the kitchen and is a thoroughfare iyswim?

We thought about it but decided to run it right through as it made the door threshold look a bit odd.

I'd keep it the same personally.

We have different flooring but there's a step in between which might make a difference. It's absolutely fine though

Ah Yes, I hadn't thought about the join between the two looking odd..Thanks for pointing that out, will just stick with the same I think and get a nice runner. Thanks all.

I'd go for the same throughout. There's a trend for differing flooring but I think it will date.

Great advice dudsville, as that's another concern..Don't want it to look 'so 2018' in a few years as we can't afford to re do it at that point. Also, it's an old house so I want the decor to be sympathetic to that. Question answered! Thanks all Grin
